Some of my friends and family may know that I’ve intensely studied and performed improv in the last year. Recently some of my favorite improvisers in Austin asked me to join them in an ensemble show running at the 8pm Saturday spot at The Hideout Theatre in January & February. The show: After School Improv.
The format, simple and fun parodies After School Specials from the 70′s and 80′s. The cast gathers a suggestion from the audience in the form of a problem that has plagued teens for all of time. These usually end up being: teen pregnancy, alcoholism, bullying, being the new kid, puberty, etc… From there, the ensemble establishes a main character while the rest of the story unfolds into a pile of hilarious.
I cannot tell you how honored, excited, nervous, little-scared I am to be involved with such a group of talented folks. The rehearsals have gone swimmingly and I anticipate being in front of an audience for the first time since playing music.

Bold – Indicates that I will be performing on those nights for sure. Other nights are either not casted or I am not performing.
